Welcome to Waychest!
Waychest is a mostly-vanilla survival Minecraft server that adds over a dozen custom items, blocks, and gameplay mechanics to Minecraft, all centered around making exploration and building more rewarding.
At its core, the server aims to create an experience built on one hypothetical: What would it be like if every Minecraft world was a part of one big world… where other people are out there, crafting their own journey, and our paths might cross?
Waychest is my answer to that hypothetical. Inspired by post-apocalyptic-themed servers of the 2010s, Waychest is a hybrid of a public multiplayer server and a private Realm. You will begin your Journey, solo or with friends, on what appears to be an empty server. But quickly, you will find that you are not alone.
waychest.com Backup IP: mc.waychest.com:25500 The server does not require any mods (though some are recommended). It runs on Purpur, modified with additional patches to support custom gameplay mechanics. For technical players, more details are available on the Server Settings page.
The server has a whitelist, and anyone may request to join. If you are interested, read on to learn more before filling out the whitelist form!

“Journey” System
Create multiple profiles on the server, each with its own spawn point, progress, unlockables, and group of friends playing with you.
Waychests
Find items that trigger a special adventure across the world, leading to a “Waychest” that another player placed. Then, build your own creations, place Waychests, and other players will be able to find them!
Discoverable Warps
Instantly warp between special blocks through a book-based user interface. To unlock a warp point, you have to find it first.
Region Protection
Protect your creations with a limited claims system integrated with Waychests. Secure valuables while still allowing explorers to see and traverse your builds.
Region Maps
Loot special maps that generate pre-explored with the surrounding region. Build a map wall without weaving through the world to fill it out!
