Nether

The Nether is the secondary world on the server. It is a default vanilla Minecraft Nether world generated in version 1.20.4 in December 2023.

Coordinates

Similar to the Overworld, coordinates visible through the F3 menu and mods are obfuscated uniquely for each Journey.

In the Nether, coordinates are shifted so that portals between the Overworld and Nether still “link up”. Dividing Overworld coordinates by 8 results in the corresponding Nether coordinates. For more information, see the Minecraft Wiki (coordinate conversion tools still work despite the shifted coordinates).

World Edges

Unlike the Overworld, the Nether has no edges or border. Feel free to explore it as far out as you would like.

Caution

If you build a portal in the Nether where its Overworld counterpart falls outside the edge of the Overworld, the portal will generate in the middle of a void. Be careful not to fall off!
